As the title queries, young Lloyd has an urgent question for many of his animal friends. In prose rich with rhyme, Deborah Guarino gives voice to each animal's clues about its own mother's looks, habits, and abode and urges the listener to chime in with the mother's name. Also encouraging listener participation is Amy Madigan's narration. She sets a leisurely pace, as Lloyd ambles from bat to swan to kangaroo, pausing to let words reverberate and to let the listener chime in. Her narration is laced with kindness and love. An auditory guessing game at its best! A.R. (c) AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine
