Description

Lloyd the llama is looking for his mama. "Is your mama a llama?" he asks a bat, a swan, a cow, a seal, and a kangaroo. With rhyme and riddle, and the perfect narration by Amy Madigan, this charming story will soon become a favorite.

Reviews

AudioFile Magazine...
As the title queries, young Lloyd has an urgent question for many of his animal friends. In prose rich with rhyme, Deborah Guarino gives voice to each animal's clues about its own mother's looks, habits, and abode and urges the listener to chime in with the mother's name. Also encouraging listener participation is Amy Madigan's narration. She sets a leisurely pace, as Lloyd ambles from bat to swan to kangaroo, pausing to let words reverberate and to let the listener chime in. Her narration is laced with kindness and love. An auditory guessing game at its best! A.R. (c) AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine

Lorgnette...
“Because young children enjoy hearing the book over and over again, many parents and teachers will want to add this video to their collections.”

School Library Journal...
“The repetition of phrases combined with the vocabulary is very useful in teaching students basic concepts and animal characteristics. Blanca Camacho’s clear narration is easy to understand. The musical score is pleasant and helps to support the charming tale…
